A magic duet with melody (translated version)

I still remember that poor kid in the neighbourhood who hesitantly held that old accordion and waved it melodically, colouring our monotonous balconies with notes. He was sitting in a cardboard box in corner and hugging his little instrument with affection, leaning on it with each outburst as if trying to hear some secret that it whispered to him

And then I began to realize...

...that the music is not on the black dull notes, nor the standard pentagrams. It is not hidden only in the tiny parallels and reverberations, nor is it lost in the labyrinths of complex keys. You can feel it from Spanish flamenco to the striking compositions of Beethoven and Vivaldi, from the ballads of the Beatles and the Scorpions to the classic Greek songs, from Adel's pop music to the magical saxophones of Armstrong and Sinatra, which disemboweled children in poor favelas on the banks of the Mississippi.

The music is woven both through the sound of the impressive bassoons and in the small flutes, from the noisy drums to the tinkling tambourine, from the huge double bass to the moving violin. From the expensive tailpiece piano to the child's metallophone.

So don't be afraid that you are not made for music. No one was born hating music, no one was born completely dissonant. There is no one who is unmusical, no one who hasn't felt, even for a moment, that melody possesses him in a special, magical way...

So...

Tap your foot rhythmically, carried away by the music! Make your feet a drum, your lips a trumpet, your fingers tap-dancing and your vocal chords a saxophone, be the orchestra, be the conductor! Grab the pen or the bathroom phone for a microphone. Yes, don't be ashamed to sing out loud with passion when you wear the headphones, when you close your eyes because you're thinking about what the monotone-less people around will say. Feel the rhythm go through your whole spine, coming out like a beat from your foot, a movement from your head, a melody from your lips.

In the bathroom, at school, at university, on the bus and on a leisurely walk on the beach. Alone and with friends, happy and full of nostalgia. With your untuned guitar and your unpolished voice, hum and sing softly

Enjoy every single note, dance with them, feel your whole being singing. Don't ask "why", there is no answer...

And close your eyes for a while. Sometimes music wants exclusivity, it gets confused with images, it wants pure harmonic notes.

But you should know that music is a joy because it makes you a child, you let yourself go to its rhythm with all your childishness, you smile spontaneously, you dance spontaneously, listening to the piano key and the violin and guitar chords, you calm down and get excited, you relax and sway rhythmically. You feel your worries leave for a while and you are transported to a world that you can't describe, but certainly doesn't have much in common with reality.

Because music is a melodic smile, an upside down bridge that "flies you from the earth to another moon..." as Frank Sinatra would say... : )

(Dedicated to all those who taught me

that music is not hidden

on the pentagram of the paper,

but on the pentagram of the heart)
